RED is a European project, funded by the Erasmus+ programme, which started in September 2017. The aim of the project is to strengthen and boost the digital, language and numeracy skills of the low-literate adult population by creating a platform with different resources.
Following a needs analysis in the partner countries, which showed that one in five people aged 16-65 had low reading skills, a modern and innovative platform has been developed.
RED Platform
This platform has two main outputs:
- Own and external resources: resources have been developed in different categories (chosen according to the specific needs of each country) that help to carry out everyday tasks, which are now done online, such as the digital certificate, requesting the work life report or the Minimum Vital Income.
- Directory: a directory has also been created with data of interest and information on different social and public organisations, or places where it may be necessary to go, in order to have all the information in one place and facilitate accessibility.
The results of the RED project
- Needs Analysis: an initial research on the needs of the target group specific to each partner country so that the platform is directly adapted to these needs.
- Competence tests: an online tool that allows organisations to quickly track down people who may have low levels of digital, numerical and linguistic literacy. These tests link directly to the platform's resources.
- RED Directory: a browser where social institutions that could offer help or information to the target group are categorised.
- RED Platform: a tool with resources, both own and external, to make it easier to carry out everyday tasks that are now done online. These resources have been created with the Xerte tool, which covers all the needs of the target group (digital, linguistic and numerical literacy).
- Sustainability study: a study on the impact and sustainability of the project results after the end of the project.
