Work as a Remedy is a European project funded by the Erasmus+ programme that began in September 2023. Its main aim is to strengthen the target group's positive outlook on entering the open labour market and to support the inclusion of this vulnerable group. The difficulty is that mental health conditions leave the target group with low self-confidence and a tendency to underestimate their own skills and abilities, which makes applying for a job daunting.

The target group therefore needs encouragement from professionals - psychologists and careers advisers - through motivational videos that help dispel their initial worries and reinforce a positive belief that they can succeed in the open labour market.

Main objectives

  • Share experience from different EU countries on the project's theme with the partner organisations.
  • Make the target group aware of the practical tools available in careers guidance.
  • Increase the target group's knowledge of the range of opportunities in the open labour market.
  • Share good employment practice involving people with mental disabilities working in the open labour market, and promote it across the EU.
  • Encourage a positive outlook in the target group so they can overcome their initial worries about coping with work.
  • Promote the inclusion of people with mental disabilities in the open labour market.

Results

  • A motivational video for the target group
  • A Good practice book to inspire the target group with good examples of work
