Gender 360 Strategy
Equal opportunities between women and men is a right recognised by the UN since 1993 and enshrined in the Spanish Constitution. That is why every school must have a plan to govern and monitor that equality. Part of any equality plan must treat training as a tool for understanding the situation and improving it.
It is not just a formality: it is about creating a space to raise awareness among the people involved, and training staff in this area is what makes that awareness possible. This is not a matter of opinion but, above all, of knowledge.
Siglo22 offers several services in this area, depending on each school's needs and requirements. In short, we offer:
- The Gender 360 Strategy at your school. Taking into account each organisation's needs, gaps and achievements, we draw up an equality plan with cross-cutting training for the whole team.
- Publicly subsidised training: a scheme through which companies in Spain give their staff the chance to take courses related to their job. It is free for employees and companies can recover up to 100% of the cost, depending on their circumstances.
- Training on a range of topics: visit our course catalogue y workshops on a range of topics (inclusive, non-exclusionary language, gender-based violence (assault and harassment), social media and identity, roles and stereotypes, co-education and more)
- Bespoke training: if there is something specific you are interested in, we can design a training plan tailored to your school.
School Digital Plan
The impact information and communication technologies (ICT) have had in recent years calls for a change in our environments. It is not just about knowing how to use them, but about bringing them into our working environment so that they become allies rather than enemies.
After what we all went through with Covid-19, moving to virtual classrooms and equipping students with the devices they needed, drawing up a School Digital Plan has become essential. That is what the Spanish Ministry of Education, with INTEF's support, has established, and it is what we back at Siglo22.
If you need advice on developing that Digital Plan, up-to-date teacher training at the cutting edge of innovation, or both, you are in the right place. Our team has been training teachers in technology and education since the start of the century, and advising schools on bringing innovation to everyone involved in education.
Training in Teaching Competences
At Siglo22 we have extensive experience in Teaching Competences for the Information and Knowledge Society, and we build our training around them. Given the society we live in, we also cannot ignore the impact information and communication technologies (ICT) have on our surroundings - an impact that reaches training and learning too. That is why Siglo22 has launched a Virtual Training Campus where you can learn about a range of topics within our areas of expertise. We also partner with other organisations to broaden the Campus and offer more.
Some of the training topics
- Platforms for online training and education.
- Pedagogical models for integrating ICT into the classroom.
- Cooperative work in the classroom.
- Social media for learning.
- Learning communities.
- Supporting diverse learners.
- Emotional education in the classroom.
- Communication skills.
- Conflict resolution.
- Co-education.
- ... and countless other topics...
Publicly subsidised training: a scheme through which companies in Spain give their staff the chance to take courses related to their job. It is free for employees and companies can recover up to 100% of the cost, depending on their circumstances.
Training formats
To suit the needs of every school that comes to Siglo22 for training, we offer the sessions in different formats:
- Blended (recommended): this format keeps the e-learning platform with its resources, activities, materials and assessment, and adds face-to-face sessions combining theory and practice. These sessions matter because they keep the trainer and the participants close: questions get answered, debates open up, changes get suggested. The face-to-face sessions are agreed with each organisation according to its needs.
- Fully asynchronous: in this format the training is delivered through Siglo22's own e-learning platform. It includes everything described above - theory sessions, assessment, debates and practical work - but interaction with the Siglo22 team is asynchronous.
