Generation AI is a European project funded by the Erasmus+ programme that helps young students grasp the basic principles of Artificial Intelligence, and helps primary teachers and pupils become more critical users of technology throughout their lives.

The main output of this project, which began in December 2020, is an e-learning platform. It hosts resources that help educators understand how AI is used in everyday life and prepare them to teach their pupils about AI applications and their strengths and weaknesses, in line with DigComp and DigCompEdu.

Generation AI

The aim is, on the one hand, to support students and teachers in developing problem-solving skills, computational thinking and design thinking around AI tools and methods; and on the other, to help them build their digital skills and a critical understanding of AI and how it applies to everyday life.

Results

Toolkit: a set of tools to help educators develop, design and apply sound AI practice in their teaching and learning.
Professional development training for teachers on AI-STEM education: so that every pupil is taught by effective, well-prepared and properly supported teachers.
Generation AI school programme for primary pupils: design, test and roll out the interdisciplinary Generation AI programme for primary education, teaching young students about AI.
Online learning platform: with multilingual open educational resources on AI-STEM education, for building digital skills and key competences.
