Skills+ is a European project funded by the Erasmus+ programme that began in September 2018. Its aim is to improve the employability of people with disabilities across different fields, and to that end it has created national and European competitions where these workers demonstrate their skills.

Through these competitions the project shares good practice among the partner organisations, building sustainable, mutually beneficial relationships between people with disabilities and SMEs.

Skills+ competitions

The project runs 10 national competitions, one in each partner country, and a European competition in the Netherlands bringing together the winning national teams. Everyone taking part can show their talent and skills across a range of occupations: gardening, ICT, hospitality and more.

Results

Methodology handbook and presentation video: a handbook on the innovative methodology behind the Skills+ competitions, so that other countries are encouraged to run them locally. Alongside it, videos introduce the project and explain how the competitions work.
Diversity management handbook: a theoretical and practical framework based on the Belgian Empower model. Aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises, it combines the theory with supporting material, tools and methods for managing diversity.
