Efficient Parenting 2 is a European project funded by the Erasmus+ programme that began in January 2024. Its main aim is to reach families and give them the life skills and basic competences to be resilient and adaptable in the face of change and uncertainty. Diversity - meaning the differences between all children, some more visible than others, such as ethnic origin, religion, culture and language, but also reaching beyond these to different (dis)abilities, levels of education, social settings, financial circumstances, health conditions or place of origin - is at the heart of EP2.

The project's intergenerational training approach offers valuable learning and development opportunities to young people and their elders alike, as each has the chance to learn from and teach the other. EP2 places particular emphasis on empowering women within the family and the community and on encouraging their civic engagement. No society today can set equality aside.

Main objectives

  • Strengthen families' resilience and adaptability in the face of permacrisis and encourage them to take an active part - without fear of exclusion or any form of intimidation - in positive, democratic action in their communities.
  • Develop a training programme for families with four themed modules matching the nature of today's challenges.
  • Develop an engaging, easy-to-use online learning platform for families, supported by expert mentors who guide them through their learning path.
  • Encourage and equip adult educators working with families to improve their practice, and give them new tools and training content through outreach at local and European level.
