VRTeacher is a European project co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme that addresses the need to modernise and digitally transform education and teacher training, strengthening educators' digital skills and readiness through a Virtual Reality (VR) training method and tool.

VRTEACHER's main outputs are a VR-based competence framework for teacher training and a state-of-the-art Virtual Reality teacher training application that reflects teachers' real-life training needs.

The project's innovation lies in tackling the challenges of classroom management during a crisis, such as a pandemic, giving teachers key skills through immersive, experiential training that mirrors the real-life scenarios they face at such times.

Results

Competence framework: based on Virtual Reality for teacher training. It comprises several competence areas with their descriptors, plus a tool for assessing teachers' competences.
Online platform: connected to the Virtual Reality tool. Through this platform the target group can access the tool during and after the project.
Impact assessment framework: a framework to assess, quantitatively and qualitatively, the impact achieved through use of the VR tool.
Good practice guide: a summary of the methodology and guidelines for promoting innovative VR-based approaches in teacher training.
